All videos created in or uploaded to Kaltura on or after February 9, 2021 will now include automatic, machine-generated closed captions. The captions will typically be available within a few hours of uploading the video. Depending on the quality of the audio, the captions should be about 80% accurate.
If you wish to have captions added to videos that were created or uploaded prior tto February 9th, you can order machine generated captions.

Adding Captioning to Existing Kaltura Video (MOODLE)
- Go to your My Media directory
(MENU > Navigation Block > Site News > My Media)
- Select the videos to which you wish to add captions.
- Select the drop-down menu arrow in Actions then select Caption & Enrich.
- At the next screen, unless you want to change the language, you can simply click on Submit button.
Correcting Machine Captioning
After the machine-generated captions have been added, you should review the captions to determine if any of the text needs to be edited. If so, follow instructions found in this article on correcting machine-generated captions.
